KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Fadil Marsus has started his duties as the new city police chief.

Fadil, whose call sign is "Blade", took over from acting police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad at the city police headquarters this morning.

He previously served as the acting Federal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by Federal Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, who is a former Kuala Lumpur police chief.
