When Sharon Osbourne decided to disinvite a band from Ozzy Osbourne’s final Black Sabbath concert, some fans were confused. But now that we know what else went down on that stage — namely, a surprise proposal to Kelly Osbourne — her reasoning suddenly makes a lot more sense.

During a recent Billboard interview ahead of the farewell show, Sharon revealed that an unnamed band had been cut from the lineup. “They wanted to make a profit, and it’s not the time to make a profit,” she said. Sharon added that she’d reveal the group’s name eventually, teasing, “I think people will be shocked.” While she didn’t explain what exactly she meant by “the time,” in the interview, it seemed like she meant she didn’t want money getting in the way of a sentimental final show. But given what exactly went down at the final show, it is all starting to make a little more sense.

Ozzy, who opened up about his Parkinson’s diagnosis back in 2020, played his final show with his Black Sabbath bandmates on Saturday at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, England. The 10-hour event featured Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Jack Black, and more, all hosted by Jason Momoa. It was both a celebration of legacy and, for Kelly, a deeply personal milestone.

In front of friends, family and a slew of press following the packed show Kelly’s longtime partner, Slipknot rocker Sid Wilson, got down on one knee and proposed. Ozzy — in classic dad form — briefly joked, “F— off, you’re not marrying my daughter,” before letting the moment unfold. Kelly, who shares her son Sidney with Wilson, said yes, surrounded by cheers and hugs from her mom Sharon and brother Jack.

Now, Sharon’s decision to keep opportunistic energy away from the stage feels even more intentional. The concert wasn’t just a business event — it was a goodbye, a beginning, and a sacred family moment rolled into one.

Kelly and Sid first met in 1999 at Ozzfest but didn’t begin dating until 2022. That same year, they welcomed their son, Sidney. Kelly has spoken candidly about the joys and anxieties of motherhood — and now, engagement adds another joyful chapter.

Sharon hasn’t named the disinvited band yet, but one thing’s clear: this show was never going to be just another gig.
