Skechers Sundown Festival 2025

Skechers Sundown Festival, a music festival that celebrates Asian pop in all its myriad forms, is back for its 13th edition.

The eclectic line-up of artises from around the region includes South Korean singer and rapper Hwasa from K-pop girl group Mamamoo, Shanghai-based hip-hop artiste Gali, Indonesian metal trio Voice Of Baceprot and Thai alternative rock band Tilly Birds.

Taking place over three days at Haw Par Villa, the performers also include home-grown acts such as rapper Shigga Shay, singer-songwriter Whylucas and singer-songwriter Inch.

Other artistes include Chinese indie-pop duo Jellorio, Thai rock band Slot Machine and South Korean rapper Dabin. The acts will perform across three stages.

Billed as Asia’s first green music festival, it also includes talks, workshops and programmes such as the inaugural Music Climate Action Summit, where climate advocates and music industry players gather to discuss sustainable practices in the live music industry.

The last Skechers Sundown Festival took place as a two-day event in 2023 at Pasir Panjang Power Station.

Jazz In July 2025

American jazz pianist and vocalist Johnny O’Neal, a beloved fixture on the New York jazz scene, is one of the global acts performing in the Esplanade’s Jazz In July festival.

The 18th edition of the Esplanade’s annual event, Jazz In July, will feature over 50 performances and workshops from Singaporean and international artistes.

The month-long event is designed to be inclusive, with gigs and programmes – many of them free – for long-time jazz fans, as well as those who are curious and want to know more about the genre.

The diverse line-up features artistes playing jazz in its various forms and includes renowned global names such as Johnny O’Neal Quartet from the United States, New York-based South African jazz singer Vuyo Sotashe and American band Immanuel Wilkins Quartet.

Home-grown jazz acts performing include singer Beverly Morata and pianist Mario Serio in a joint performance, jazz fusion group FusioNation and Amanda Lee Swingtet.

Jazz newbies will want to check out programmes such as big band performances at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre and free beginner swing dance lessons.

D’Masiv II Dekad

Indonesian rock band D’Masiv’s Singapore gig is part of their 20th anniversary series of shows.

Indonesian rock band D’Masiv will be back in Singapore for a show that is a part of their 20th anniversary tour that has seen them perform across US and Europe in recent years.

Known for hits such as Cinta Ini Membunuhku (This Love Is Killing Me, 2008), Jangan Menyerah (Don’t Give Up, 2009) and Merindukanmu (Missing You, 2008), the band formed in Jakarta in 2003.

But it was only in 2007 that they started making a name for themselves after winning Indonesia music competition A Mild Live Wanted. They released debut album Perubahan (Changes) the following year.

The band’s previous gigs in Singapore include a set at the multi-act show Konsert Galau in 2023, a gig that also featured their contemporaries like Indonesia rock band Noah.
