Skytrax 2025: Singapore is Asia’s best airline, with world’s top cabin crew and first class
Earlier this year, global airline rating site Skytrax released its list of the world’s best airports in its Skytrax World Airport Awards 2025 – and our pride and joy of the East, Changi Airport, was officially crowned the top airport in the world, along with a slew of other awards for dining, clean washrooms, and hotels. Can’t say we’re surprised there, and we’re not even being biased.
Now, the highly anticipated Skytrax World’s Best Airlines 2025 winners list is finally out, and Singapore Airlines is named the second best airline in the world. SIA, also interchangeably referred to as SQ, misses the crown for first place to Qatar Airways for the second time in a row – 2024’s Skytrax awards had the two airlines head to head in the exact same order – and has yet to reclaim its number one status from 2023. Prior to that, the last time Singapore Airlines was ranked first was in 2018, with Qatar Airways staying firmly in the top spot from 2019 to 2022.
It’s been a tough fight between the two, but we’re proud of our national carrier for being within the top three nonetheless. Besides, Singapore Airlines is still the best airline in Asia – a title it has held for many consecutive years.
On top of that, Skytrax also recognises Singapore Airlines for the World’s Best Cabin Crew 2025 award, along with the World’s Best First Class Airlines 2025 award, among plenty others.

As the cherry on top, Singapore Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary Scoot is also recognised in this year’s Skytrax awards as the World's Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline in 2025. It’s also ranked second in Skytrax’s list of World’s Best Low-Cost Airlines 2025. Both titles are consistent with that of Scoot’s ranking in 2024. While Scoot is popular among locals for affordable flights around the region, it also has a couple of longer routes to places like Vienna, Austria; Athens, Greece; as well as various cities in Australia including Melbourne and Sydney.
