It’s been quite the night for the soaps as the cast of EastEnders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Doctors and Coronation Street gathered together for this year’s British Soap Awards.

It was good news for Emmerdale and EastEnders, as they bagged four prizes each, with Emmerdale picking up the award for Best Soap.

Elsewhere, Coronation Street’s Maximus Evans won the award Best Villain, after playing the role of evil Corey Brent, and the cast of Doctors were thrilled to pick up the Best Single Episode award.

Here is the full list of award categories, nominees and the winners:

Notably, the three viewer categories – Soap, Leading Performer and Family – all went to Emmerdale, as the appetite for the show in its 50th year remains high.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk on the red carpet, Paige Sandhu was up for a return of Meena Jutla but told us how proud she is to have played a part in the milestone year.
