April 2 (Reuters) - Nils ⁠Nielsen has stepped down as head coach of ⁠the Japanese women's team, the country's football association (JFA) ‌said on Thursday, less than two weeks after the Dane guided them to the Women's Asian Cup title.

Last month, Japan rounded off ​a dominant Asian Cup campaign by ⁠defeating tournament hosts Australia ⁠1-0 in the final to win the continental title for ⁠the ‌third time in the last four editions.
