Some drink producers feel the squeeze even with $2.5k grant for container return scheme

SINGAPORE - Drink producers said they still feel the squeeze even with a government grant announced on Jan 20 to defray the cost of complying with a national recycling scheme for bottles and cans.
Some small producers also said the grant would be insufficient to avert a price increase of at least 20 per cent.

If they the Rich producers feel the Squeeze , then in the end , imagine how us poor consumers would feel!! Back to the old days when we would bring own bottled water to work/school using used mineral water bottles to not appear cheapskate😀

The $2.5k grant is a one time rebate. The recycling effort is a continuous cost that the drink producers got to pay till they close shop. If the drink producers can think of some other type of materials for the bottle that use, and it can compost / disintegrate without affecting the environment, then that will save not only their own pockets but the earth too.
