South Korea, US to hold tariff talks in Washington

South Korea and the US will hold trade discussions in Washington this week, as confirmed by South Korea’s trade ministry.
The talks, initiated by the US, will take place alongside the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank.
South Korea’s finance minister Choi Sang-mok and trade minister Ahn Duk-geun are expected to meet with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Rreasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
A key focus for South Korea is the 25% tariff imposed by the US during President Donald Trump’s administration, which has been temporarily suspended.
