Speaker rejects motion to compel Bintulu MP to apologise for 'takut mati' remark on technical grounds

KUALA LUMPUR: A motion submitted by RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) to compel Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing (GPS-Bintulu) to apologise for his controversial "takut mati" remark has been rejected by Speaker Datuk Seri Azhar Azizan Harun (pic) on technical grounds.
According to Azhar, this was because Standing Orders 4 did not provide him powers to review decisions made by Deputy Speaker Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.
