KUCHING (March 17): A 33-year-old spectator was detained by police for allegedly throwing a firecracker onto the tracks at Stadium Negeri Sarawak during the Kuching City FC versus Selangor FC match last night.

Kuching district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the man was detained at around 10.50pm.

“During the football match, it was discovered that an individual in the spectators’ seats had thrown an object onto the stadium tracks, followed by a loud explosion believed to been caused by a firecracker,” he said in a statement today.
