KOTA KINABALU: Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail has urged the public to stop spreading negative and sensitive information regarding the death of Form One student Zara Qairina Mahathir.

He said issues that touch on 3R (race, religion and royalty), which can cause public unrest, must also stop.

“Negative comments and public perception sometimes make it even harder for us to continue our investigations,” he said during his maiden visit to Sabah on Saturday (Aug 2).

“I urge everyone to refrain from making negative comments or remarks that incite unrest or are in poor taste, especially those linking individuals, politics, and the Istana with this case,” said Khalid.
