Suicide or accident? Man dies after falling from HDB block!
A 50-year-old Indian national died early this morning after falling from a high floor of Block 186 Boon Lay Avenue. The man, reportedly a construction worker, had just returned from a night shift and was seen leaning on the corridor railing before the tragic incident occurred around 7:00 AM.
According to eyewitnesses and media reports, the man’s fall was so forceful that he smashed through a window and several tree branches. The broken branches, along with the man, crashed into a nearby car park, damaging a taxi and a private vehicle below.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force responded promptly, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have ruled out foul play, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fall.
This tragic incident has once again cast a spotlight on the challenges faced by migrant workers in Singapore. Advocates continue to call for better support in areas such as mental health care, accommodation safety, and post-shift well-being.
