PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur saved the best for last by unveiling their latest signing – super striker Kpah Sherman to bolster their squad ahead of the Super League starting on Friday.

The former Pahang hitman joins Kuala Lumpur after the club also secured Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) Safawi Rasid, Manuel Hidalgo, and Syamer Kutty Abba, signalling their intent for a stronger campaign.

The 33-year-old Liberian brings a wealth of experience and firepower, having netted 76 goals in his last four seasons in Malaysia. His proven scoring record is expected to provide a major boost to the City Boys’ frontline.

Sherman was not the only new name Kuala Lumpur welcomed, as Pahang’s Azrif Nasrulhaq will also be heading west to join Kuala Lumpur.

The 34-year-old had been in Pahang’s line-up since 2023, after joining on loan from JDT, but had made the move permanent last year.

New Kuala Lumpur head coach Risto Vidakovic’s plans to build his squad has been centered around chemistry, and the arrival of 25-year-old Fazrul Amir is also set to create excitement.

“One of Malaysia’s most exciting young talents. He’s here and is ready to shine. Welcome to the capital Fazrul!” the club said in an announcement.

Besides the three new signings, Kuala Lumpur will also be boasting names such as defender Adam Nor Azlin and Syazwan Andik from Pahang, while also having brought in Filipino goalkeeper Quincy Kammerad.

KL, who finished sixth last season, will open their campaign against newcomers Immigration on Saturday at the Penang State Stadium a day after the Charity Shield game between JDT and Selangor in Johor.
