KUALA LUMPUR: TSH Resources Bhd

said its Indonesian operations have not contributed to the recent transboundary haze, despite detecting 274 hotspots within its estate boundaries between January and Oct 21, 2026.

“During the period, 274 hotspots were detected within the group’s estate boundaries and were all in community enclave areas, outside the group’s operational areas.

“The group’s field teams responded to and extinguished these fires, and police reports have been lodged in respect of these incidents,” the plantation group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

The statement was issued in response to an enquiry from the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd (SGX) concerning forest and peatland fires in Indonesia.

TSH said no fires had been detected within its planted or operational areas during the period, and there had been no reports or claims of fires started by its employees.

“For completeness, on Aug 17, 2026, a localised fire occurred within the Hak Guna Usaha area of the Group’s subsidiary, PT Bulungan Citra Agro Persada.

“The fire originated from a community enclave area outside BCAP’s operational area. BCAP extinguished the fire on the same day, lodged a police report and continues to cooperate with the relevant authorities,” TSH said.

TSH said it had not received any notices from environmental agencies in connection with the recent haze.

The group said it maintained a zero-burning policy across its operations, contractors and suppliers, and had not undertaken new planting on peatland since Dec 31, 2015.

Its fire prevention measures include satellite hotspot monitoring, daily ground patrols, 123 fire towers, 11 drones and 28 firefighting squads comprising 425 trained personnel.

TSH spends an estimated RM2mil annually on these measures.

The group said its Indonesian operations and assets had not been affected by the recent fires and it did not expect any material operational, financial, legal, regulatory or reputational impact.
