KUALA LUMPUR: Taiwan-listed FIC Global Inc (FICG) has officially opened its manufacturing facility at i-Park @ Senai Airport City, Johor, as part of its expansion into Southeast Asia.

FICG is a Taiwan-listed technology group serving the artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, data centre and semiconductor industries.

The facility, operated by its subsidiary PRO3C (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, will support demand from the artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing, data centre and semiconductor sectors.

In a statement, FICG said the Johor plant began production at the end of 2025 before moving into mass production in the first quarter of 2026.

The facility currently operates eight surface-mount technology (SMT) production lines, with capacity being increased in line with customer orders and market demand.

The opening forms part of FICG's Johor-Singapore Twinning Strategy, under which its Johor operations will focus on manufacturing, engineering and mass production.

Meanwhile, its planned Innovation and supply chain centre in Singapore will handle innovation, strategic sourcing, supply chain management and international customer engagement.

FICG chairman Leo Chien said the strategy would combine Johor's manufacturing capabilities with Singapore's strengths in innovation, sourcing and global connectivity.

"By combining Johor's manufacturing strengths with Singapore's capabilities in innovation, strategic sourcing and global connectivity, we are building a faster, more flexible and resilient regional operating platform," he said.

The company said recruitment would be carried out in phases according to production requirements and business growth.

Over the longer term, FICG's combined operations in Malaysia and Singapore could support more than 1,000 jobs, subject to market demand and operational requirements.

FICG had earlier signed memoranda of understanding with AME Elite Consortium Bhd and Singapore's JTC Corporation to support its regional expansion, while UOB is providing cross-border banking support.
