Takumi Minamino told to 'step up' as Liverpool fans adjust to squad reality

Now that the summer transfer window has been and gone, Liverpool fans are sizing up the Reds squad that Jurgen Klopp will be relying on, at least until January. With the departure of Xherdan Shaqiri to Lyon, many supporters hoped they would see reinforcements arrive in the wide areas. However, there is one man that fans are hoping can make the step up to become a more viable prospect in the forward line: Takumi Minamino. The Japan international arrived in January 2020 on the basis of his electric displays for Red Bull Salzburg - but has failed to recapture his form due to limited game time in a Reds shirt.
