Tan Sri claimed he could 'settle' MBI case for RM25mil, say police

KUALA LUMPUR: The businessman with the Tan Sri title who was arrested upon his return from Osaka on March 29 allegedly claimed he could settle the police case against Mobility Beyond Imagination (MBI) for RM25 million.
Federal police Anti-Money Laundering (Amla) Crime Investigation Unit chief Datuk Muhammed Hasbullah Ali said police learnt this following initial arrests under Op Northern Star, between March 21 and April 5.
"When we detained the suspects, they were surprised and asked why they were arrested, claiming they had already paid a sum of money to close the case.
