KLANG: A 17-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident with a cement lorry in Kapar on Tuesday (May 20).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the incident happened at Taman Sri Kapar heading towards Kuala Selangor.

A team of seven firemen from the Kapar fire station rushed to the scene to carry out rescue operations, he said.

The 44-year-old lorry driver escaped unhurt.

North Klang OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao said in a statement that the incident happened at 4.35pm when the lorry driver was making a U-turn.

He said the motorcyclist approaching from behind was unable to stop and hit the side of the lorry.

“The motorcyclist died at the scene. His body was taken to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah for a post-mortem.

“The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he added.
