Tesla’s ‘robotaxi’ name too generic for trademark approval
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has denied Tesla’s application to trademark the term “Robotaxi,” citing its generic nature.
The decision, issued as a “nonfinal office action” on May 5, 2025, allows Tesla three months to respond before the application is abandoned.
