Thailand clarifies new $400 fine for drinking alcohol during banned hours
BANGKOK - Thailand’s Public Health Ministry has clarified details of the new
Alcoholic Beverage Control Act
, which took effect on Nov 8, 2025.
The legislation prohibits people from consuming alcohol in restaurants or commercial venues during restricted hours — from midnight to 11am and 2pm to 5pm.
