KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — Malaysian singer-songwriter Aisha Retno is set to take the stage tomorrow for her highly anticipated showcase, ‘The A.I.S.H.A Experience,’ at JioSpace.

During the lead-up, the artist had shared her excitement and the intensity of the final countdown.

“It’s going to be really busy,” she told Malay Mail, detailing a packed schedule of dance rehearsals and meetings to ensure the show, organised by LOL Asia, is nothing short of spectacular.

The event will celebrate her new album, [Re.Hab], and her musical evolution.

A dream come true

For Aisha, this showcase represents a significant milestone and a second chance.

“I feel that LOL Asia has inspired me to grow — not just as an artist, but as a person. It reminded me that there’s always a second chance to improve, to heal, and to find a new path,” she said.

The show will feature a mix of her timeless tracks and appearances by special guests, including musician Aizat Amdan and the talented Megat Fazly.

When asked about her decision to invite artists from different generations, Aisha shared her inclusive vision.

“Music has no limits, no boundaries. No matter which generation is creating it, they deserve to be celebrated,” she said. “With this mix, I believe it creates more unity and opportunities to learn from one another."

Finding the motivation to keep going

Aisha’s journey has not been without its challenges. She admitted that the cancellation of her debut concert last year was one of the most difficult moments of her career.

“I felt like I had given up and didn't want to be in the music industry anymore,” she recalled.

She eventually found her footing again, thanks to the unwavering support of her parents, her brother, and her fans.

“I felt it would be such a waste to give up and not carry this support system with me. I just want to make them proud,” she said, crediting the listeners who have stood by her for the past five years.

What's next?

Far from slowing down, Aisha is only just getting started. The rising star has been steadily carving out a space in the English-language music scene and teased that more is on the horizon.

“The plan is to eventually release a full English album,” she revealed. “There will also be a few unreleased English songs performed at the upcoming showcase.”

Collaboration is also high on her list, with local powerhouses Aizat Amdan and Dayang Nurfaizah named as dream collaborators, alongside global icons like Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish.

Beyond music, she is also beginning to explore acting, with a particular passion for musical theatre.

As for her hopes after the showcase, Aisha remains grounded.

“I just hope fans will continue to stick with me until the end of my career journey. This is my passion — it’s what I truly believe I was born to do.”
