Three things life are certain – death, taxes, and the dreaded discourse on the internet every time something becomes popular.

It’s a cliche to say that we can’t have nice things, but Twitter seems to make that statement truer and truer by the day, as anything that brings a smidgen of joy to somebody is dissected so much that it is sliced into mush. Whether it’s taking down something with millions of fans – ‘Friends is bad, actually’ – or picking holes in every plot line as if it’s a government policy, not a fluffy sitcom, people cannot allow a TV show to go by with glowing reviews. Nothing can emerge unscathed.
