The deserted island deep in the Pacific where six teenagers were stranded for 15 months
Southwest of Tongatapu, the main island of the Tongan archipelago, lies the depopulated island of ‘Ata in the South Pacific Ocean.
In June 1965, a group of six Tongan youths became stranded on the island. They remained there for 15 months, to be rescued in September 1966 by a passing fisherman.
