This Corgi Is Now China's Most Popular Police Officer

When one thinks of service dogs in the armed forces, a cute-looking corgi is not the first breed that comes to mind.

C’mon, those stumpy limbs and bright smiles may be adorable, but who is a corgi going to save?

Introducing Fuzai (or “Lucky Boy” in Mandarin), a six-month-old corgi who recently made his debut at a police open camp in Weifang, Shandong.

Naturally, onlookers couldn’t help but whip out their phones to take videos and pictures of Fuzai, quickly making him the talk of the event.

Videos of the cute-looking pooch swiftly went viral online, with one video hitting more than 1.5 million views on Weibo.

One vid also showed a line of muzzled German Shepherds — a breed commonly used by police forces — walking by, with Fuzai at the end of the line strapped to the back of an officer and his fuzzy paws dangling out.

Aww… did those corgi limbs tire out?

Before you poo-poo the idea of the short-legged cutie being any good in dire situations, think again.

According to his handlers, Fuzai’s short legs are an advantage when investigating the bottom of cars, and especially between tight and narrow spaces.
