Whenever I visit the Singapore Zoo, River Safari or Night Safari, there’s one thing I have to do — grab a cuppa at the Mandai Starbucks outlet. I mean, what’s not to love? There’s air-conditioning, iced drinks, and an oh-so aesthetic interior… the perfect pick-me-up after a hot day.  If you can relate, you’ll be delighted to find that Starbucks is now in Bird Paradise, and it’s absolutely gorgeous.

I’m talking floor-to-ceiling glass windows, wooden beams and seamless blending of nature and architecture — it’s really giving rustic all around. Seriously, it looks like a dreamy cabin in the woods!

The store is also built with environmentally friendly materials like recycled wood, and also features a specially customised hand-painted mural in collaboration with local artist Rippleroot. The artwork is pretty fitting, seeing how it depicts the iconic Starbucks Siren surrounded by nature.

If you notice the sign “1971” engraved at the back of the Starbucks signage, it’s actually an allusion to the year where both Starbucks and the original Singapore Bird Park opened its doors to the public. Talk about nostalgia!

Even if you’re not a bird enthusiast, the tranquil environment makes it a perfect spot to unwind over a cup of coffee or tea — just imagine the sunlight streaming in through the glass windows as you sit back and relax with your favourite drink. Plus, Birds of Paradise is right around the corner, so you can also grab some botanical gelato and sandwiches.

Since the area is known to be pretty family-centric, there’s also a mini playground right in front of the outlet to cater to the little ones. Plus, there’s also a few benches for parents to watch over their children (or even where you can live your alfresco dining dreams).

As part of their opening promotion, the first 2000 customers to spend S$20 at Starbucks Bird Paradise will get a free Starbucks Reusable Cup. I don’t know about you, but I’m all ready to head down.

The next time you’re looking for a chill spot, you know where to go!
