With our budgets tightening and pretty much every single thing getting more expensive these days, we want to make sure we’re spending our cash wisely.

And that’s even more important when it comes to buying a house.

It’s no secret that property prices are soaring.

In London alone, there are just eight boroughs where you’ll find homes consistently listed below the London-wide average property price. And there is no longer anywhere in the UK where the average cost of a home is less than £100,000.

But now, new research can help buyers, as it shows exactly how much a square foot of property costs in different areas of the UK.

Of course, we all know you get more for your money in different parts of the country. And this new data from TwentyEA has revealed the huge disparity in how much space home-movers’ money will buy them.

The price per square footage variances between the North East and London is the largest, where London is over six times more expensive.

The average cost for one square foot of property in the UK is currently £331, but in inner London the figure rises to £724. Outside the capital, there are large regional variances, with one square foot of space in Wales costing £226, while in Scotland the figure is £200.
