Imagine swiping through Tinder and coming across JJ Lin.

Well, “JJ”.

A Xiaohongshu user recently shared screenshots of a Tinder profile using what appears to be a photo of the 45-year-old Singaporean singer.

The profile identified him as “JJ”, 40 — five years younger than the real JJ — apparently in the United States.

His bio? A very dubious “Thick thighs save lives.”

Even more amusingly, the profile had a photo verification tick.

“I was wondering who had stolen JJ Lin’s photos, but when I saw that verification tick, I was stunned…” wrote the poster.

“Whatever. I swiped right. Asking for two concert tickets isn’t too much, right?”

Turns out, they matched.

 In a screenshot of their chat, the poster asked if he was really JJ and how he got verified.

“LOL. Absolutely not. I just look similar to him,” replied “JJ”.

Sure.

When the poster pointed out that he was using JJ’s photos, “JJ” insisted: “No, he doesn’t wear glasses.”

Netizens, unsurprisingly, had plenty to say.

“Could it actually be him? Maybe when someone recognises him, he says he isn't the real person. He probably only wants to match with foreigners who don't know him,” joked one.

Another immediately spotted a problem with that theory: “If they don't know him, he doesn't seem to have much of an advantage [on Tinder].”

Some also pointed out that a Tinder photo verification tick isn't the same as verifying someone's identity — it essentially checks whether the person taking the verification video matches the photos on the profile.

As for whether the Tinder screenshots themselves were genuine or simply created as a joke, we can't tell from the Xiaohongshu post alone.

Either way, the real JJ probably isn't losing sleep over his Tinder prospects.

The star went public with his relationship with Chinese influencer Qi Qi, aka Annalisa, 24, last December, after years of keeping his love life fiercely private.
