Tony Leung Shows Up At Hong Kong Car Meet In Rare S$1.6mil Porsche
As though Tony Leung could not get any cooler.
The 64-year-old Hong Kong screen legend has long been known for his effortlessly suave ways, and it appears his taste in cars is just as impressive.
Tony recently turned up at a Morning Drive (MD) car gathering in Hong Kong in a very rare set of wheels — a Porsche 993 Gunther Werks.
For the uninitiated, Morning Drives see car enthusiasts taking their prized rides out for a spin, with photographers stationed along the routes to snap the cars as they cruise by.
At the recent drive, several photographers managed to capture Tony’s Porsche on camera.
But it wasn't just the car that got them excited.
When they realised it was Tony behind the wheel, they understandably lost it.
“This is crazy, it’s Tony Leung! Both the man and car are so cool,” gushed one photographer.
Another wrote: “Can’t believe I got to photograph Tony Leung. Never dreamed this would happen. Unbelievably cool.”
And honestly, can you blame them?
The Porsche 993 is very rare, with only 25 reportedly produced. The car said to be worth more than HK$10mil (S$1.64mil).
When a netizen asked if HK$18mil (S$2.95mil) would be enough to get one, one photographer simply replied: “At least.”
Market data reportedly shows that the highest recorded overseas sale price for the same model was £1,204,266 (S$2.1mil).
Netizens were just as impressed by Tony casually showing up for the drive.
“He’s been cool for decades,” wrote one, while another said: “Mr Tony Leung is rich and has taste.”
One was particularly amused that the famously introverted star would take part in an MD: “Even an introvert like him joins MD!”
The actor has long been known for his love of cars and was spotted checking out luxury cars in Macau last year.
Guess Tony really does have a ride to match his cool factor.
