Bicol-based pop outfit Tothapi are building on the success of their viral hit ‘Celeste’ with a brand new single, ‘Ulan’—a smooth, jazz-tinged slowburner that dives into the emotional turbulence of modern love.
Following the viral buzz on TikTok and a co-sign from Regine Velasquez, ‘Celeste’ catapulted the eight-piece band into the spotlight. Now, they return with ‘Ulan’, a track that mirrors the push-and-pull of seasonal affection: never quite here, never completely gone.

“It’s falling in and out of love in the digital age,” the band shares, describing a romance marked by emotional ambiguity and mixed signals. Sonically, the song reflects this instability—lush chords and bittersweet melodies in constant motion.
Written during their senior high school days, ‘Ulan’ stems from personal experience but carries a universality that hits home. “It came from something deeply personal, but it grew into something a lot of people could relate to,” they say.
Recorded in their home studio with in-house producer Beej, ‘Ulan’ also spotlights the group’s tight musical bond. “Every session becomes memorable—we’re not just a band, we’re family.”
A playful music video is also on the way, starring viral TikTok personality Josh aka “Golden Retriever Boy”, known for his cheeky resemblance to Patrick Bernardino and his dating show moment.
With ‘Ulan’, Tothapi once again prove their knack for heartfelt storytelling and genre-blending production—further cementing their place in the OPM scene.
