Tulips are almost synonymous with the Netherlands – that iconic sight of endless rows of blooms with windmills in the background is as unmistakable as it gets. But what many don’t know is that the tulip isn’t actually native to Holland, and in fact first existed in Türkiye as a wild flower before being imported to Europe. This interesting tidbit of info is something we just learnt at Tulipmania, Gardens by the Bay’s annual tulip display, and fittingly, 2025’s version is a tribute to the vibrant flower's motherland.
