UK hits X over Grok paywall for explicit AI images
X has restricted its Grok AI image creation tool to paying subscribers after reports of the tool being used to generate explicit and manipulated images, including of women and children.
The UK government criticized the move, calling it unacceptable, and said it effectively made the generation of unlawful images a premium service.
