Downing Street raised concerns over Tehran’s threats to disrupt shipping in the region after the Royal Navy frigate HMS Montrose drove off Iranian patrol boats attempting to intercept a British tanker. Yesterday, the Government announced it was bringing forward plans to dispatch a Type 45 Destroyer, HMS Duncan, to relieve Montrose. HMS Duncan is setting sail for the region and is expected to arrive by next week.
