US senators urge Apple, Google to pull X’s Grok over AI images

Three Democratic US senators have urged Apple and Google to remove X and its AI chatbot Grok from their app stores over concerns about the spread of nonconsensual sexual images of women and minors.

In a letter, senators Ron Wyden, Ben Ray Lujan, and Edward Markey said X and Grok violated app store policies against sexual or exploitative content.

X, owned by Elon Musk, faced criticism after its Grok chatbot generated AI images depicting women and children in sexualized poses.
