SINGAPORE – Staging the 2026 Commonwealth Games may not make sense for Singapore, experts said, citing reasons such as high costs and a tight timeline.

In search for a new host city following Australian state Victoria’s withdrawal, the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) at its general assembly in November 2023 invited all its associations, including Singapore, to express their interest in taking over.
