Those disappointed thrill-seekers looking for more drama from the English domestic season might wish to switch attention to Nottingham Forest. This season’s surprise package are holding on to fourth spot in the Premier League, three points ahead of sixth-placed Chelsea, with five matches remaining.

On April 27, against a resurgent Manchester City, an FA Cup semi-final remains at stake. Forest still have a chance of claiming the trophy that the legendary Brian Clough failed to win. They did lift it twice before, but the last victory came in 1959, when the goalscorers included Roy Dwight, cousin of Reg Dwight, aka Elton John.
