Urban Renewal Act unconstitutional, argues House Buyers Association

KUALA LUMPUR: The National House Buyers Association has voiced concerns that the proposed Urban Renewal Act (URA) could violate homeowners' constitutional rights to object to redevelopment.
Its secretary-general, Datuk Chang Kim Loong, said any law that enables developers to enforce the will of the majority for profit would contravene Article 13 of the Federal Constitution.
