SYDNEY - Matildas coach Tony Gustavsson said some very good players will miss out on this year's Olympic tournament in Paris with the restriction on squad size leaving him unable to exploit the depth he has built up over the last few seasons.

The Swede named a 23-woman Australia squad on Wednesday for a friendly against Mexico in San Antonio, Texas in early April but will be restricted to 18 players for the Olympics in July and August.
