Vietnamese national charged in extortion scheme where doctored photos were used

SINGAPORE - A Vietnamese national who tried to extort individuals here, including politicians, by using doctored photos that depicted the victims in intimate situations has been charged in court.
Nguyen Lan Dung was one of 12 people investigated for suspected involvement in the use of bank accounts and SIM cards for extortion. She allegedly helped others secure access to banking services provided by UOB.

These scammers just want short cuts and easy money. Work hard to be someone people can look upon not behind bars and get criminal records. Not worth it.

iIthink the government should reconsider altering the sentences for scammers since there are more and more scammers who thinks they can just try it once and get away with it,just like how Singapore government punished those loan sharks now..give them the maximum sentence of a minimum 10 years in jail and see how many more scammers would wana try doing it in Singapore..it's because the sentences are too lenient that's why people wana try and see if they can make it big and run

Correct. Expected. Work is done by those scammers. Those photos are produced by them. More like a kidnap than scam.
