SINGAPORE – On July 1, just days before English rock band Oasis would kick off its comeback tour, its lead singer Liam Gallagher made a post on X that included a slur for Asians: “chingchong”. 

The post was met with much-deserved anger, especially from Asian accounts. What was galling for Asians was that the Oasis Live ‘25 Tour would head to Seoul and Tokyo in October, meaning that he was mocking the people who would be giving him the cash to buy more sports cars.
