KUALA LUMPUR: Women’s doubles shuttler Pearly Tan is fired up to continue her fine form this year with M. Thinaah after receiving RM15,000 incentive and an iPhone from health supplement brand Vita Health.

Pearly, who is an ambassador for Vita Health, was rewarded following her historic silver medal in the World Championships in Paris last month with Thinaah.

Thinaah was also not left out and received an iPhone as well.

Pearly and Thinaah were touched by the incentive and have vowed to keep up their good work in the remaining months of the year.

“I feel really touched because Vita Health really appreciate how Thinaah and I fought on court,” said Pearly at the Alexandra Dining in Old Klang Road on Friday (Sept 26).

“Both of us are tired after a hectic schedule but this party really means a lot to us. We really feel motivated.

“So far this year, Thinaah and I discussed a lot and tried to improve our game play and consistency

“There are still ups and downs but it’s been much better than before and for the last few months of this year, we will keep looking for ways to become better,” added Pearly.

Pearly-Thinaah became the first women’s doubles pair from Malaysia to win a medal in the world meet.

The duo also captured the Thailand Open and finished runners-up in the Indonesian Open, Japan Open and Indonesian Masters.

Pearly-Thinaah’s good run saw them rise to a career-high No. 2 in the world in July.

They are the first Malaysians in the women’s doubles to reach the top two in the world rankings since Chin Eei Hui-Wong Pei Tty, who went on to reach No. 1 in 2009.

Pearly-Thinaah will compete next in the Arctic Open from Oct 7-12 in Vantaa, Finland.
