WWE's Vince McMahon Cited for Reckless Driving After Car Crash

Vince McMahon is heading to court.

The former CEO of WWE damaged his 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed on Connecticut’s Route 15 highway after the car struck another vehicle and crashed into a wooden guardrail on July 24, resulting in a third car hitting the crash’s debris, according to a police report obtained by NBC News.

While no injuries were reported, McMahon—whose wife Linda McMahon is President Donald Trump’s Secretary of Education—was cited for reckless driving and following too closely, and was released on a $500 bond, per the docs. He is set to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Aug. 26.

E! News has reached out to a rep for McMahon for comment and has not yet heard back.

While McMahon—who stepped down as CEO of WWE in 2022 amid a company investigation into allegations of sexual assault——has not publicly addressed the incident, he has been on social media in recent days. In fact, after the crash, he paid tribute to wrestler Hulk Hogan, who died that morning after authorities responded to an emergency relating to a cardiac arrest.

“The world lost a treasure today,” McMahon wrote in a statement posted to X (formerly Twitter). “Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world. He was a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon.”

McMahon—who also resigned last year as the executive chairman of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE, one day after a former WWE employee filed a sexual abuse lawsuit against him, though he denies the allegations—also praised Hogan for the example he set.

“His grit and unbridled thirst for success were unparalleled - and made him the consummate performer,” McMahon continued. “He gave everything he had to the audience whom he appreciated, respected and loved.”

The wrestling professional concluded, “He leaves us with one of his favorite expressions, ‘Train, take your vitamins and say your prayers.’ Today, we pray for him.”

"WWE is saddened to learn legendary WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away," the WWE wrote on Instagram. "One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans."

"I had the pleasure of meeting this brilliant personality and showman when he was 26 years old," the Rocky star wrote on Instagram. "He was absolutely wonderful and his amazing skill made Rocky III incredibly special. My heart breaks. I think that he’s gone…"

The WWE icon paid tribute to his fellow wrestler on Instagram by simply sharing a throwback photo of Hogan doing what he loved most in the ring.

"It’s hard to put into words what Terry 'Hulk Hogan' Bollea meant to professional wrestling and entertainment," the retired WWE legend wrote on Instagram. "He may be gone, but his memory and legacy will live forever."

"I Am Absolutely Shocked To Hear About The Passing Of My Close Friend @hulkhogan," the wrestler wrote on Instagram. "Hulk Has Been By My Side Since We Started In The Wrestling Business. An Incredible Athlete, Talent, Friend, And Father!"

"Our Friendship Has Meant The World To Me," he continued. "He Was Always There For Me Even When I Didn’t Ask For Him To Be. He Was One Of The First To Visit Me When I Was In The Hospital With A 2% Chance Of Living, And He Prayed By My Bedside. Hulk Also Lent Me Money When Reid Was Sick. Hulkster, No One Will Ever Compare To You! Rest In Peace My Friend!"

"R.I.P. to a legend," the son of President Donald Trump wrote on X. "HULK HOGAN."
