What was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime Northern Lights holiday has left one couple feeling anything but warm and fuzzy, no thanks to discrepancies in flight upgrade prices quoted by a travel agency, according to a media report.

It’s advisable to do proper checks on the itineraries and the prices quoted before you decide to confirm your holiday trip. Once you have made payment and decide to make changes, many agencies will take advantage of your situation.

DIY booking, example through agoda is always cheaper than booking through a travel agency. Customer service is not free of charge plus GST. By the way there is no guarantee you can see the Northern Lights but guarantee you can suffer the icy cold temperature.

There's always a markup of price if you booked though travel agency compared to self bookings. Last minute upgrade will definitely cost more. That's up to individual's decision whether upgrading is necessary or not.
