Everyone looks for something a little different in a good pair of walking shoes: Maybe you want a breathable shoe for sweaty feet, or you’d prefer an easy slip-on pair without laces. For those of us living in areas that get lots of rain or who generally spend a lot of time outside, a waterproof shoe is a godsend. And guess what? We think we found the comfiest one.

Dansko is a podiatrist-recommended brand that has also earned the American Podiatrist Medical Association’s seal of approval. Their clogs have rave reviews from HuffPost editors, too, but today, we’re talking about the Dansko XP 2.0 clog, which comes in a waterproof version in black and brown with all the same comfort and stability.

The XP 2.0 has a scratch-resistant patent leather upper, a slip-resistant outsole, and a footbed designed with natural arch technology and memory foam cushioning. (The footbed is also removable, so you can use orthotics.) There’s a 1.75-inch heel for just a little bit of lift. A TPU heel counter and roomy toe box keep the shoe comfortable for all-day wear, and the sleek, stylish look of the leather clogs can work with jeans, scrubs and so many other outfits. (One effusive reviewer called them “BEA-U-TI-FUL” for good reason.)

Speaking of reviewers, shoppers seemingly can’t get enough of Dansko’s durability and quality; many are satisfied repeat customers. Some reviews of the XP 2.0 mention buying “upwards of 25 pairs” of Dansko shoes over the years while others claim their Dansko shoes lasted decades. If the $150 price had been making you wary, hopefully it’s reassuring to know that these should last you a long while.

The waterproof design makes it easy to do things like walk the dog in rainy weather, and also protect the shoes from stains. One reviewer who works with sick patients pointed that the waterproofing can withstand being doused in bodily fluids and getting washed afterward without damage, unlike a regular tennis walking shoe. If you want something more waterproof and slip-resistant than a typical sneaker but more comfortable than a stiff rainboot for mud, rain and other elements, these provide the best of both worlds.

Reviewers also spoke highly of the comfort.

Buyers with arthritis, back problems, plantar fasciitis and other issues with foot and leg pain mention the positive impact the XP 2.0 had on their feet.

“These shoes seem to be the only ones that keep the pain away,” one reviewer with plantar fasciitis wrote. Another reviewer, who is on their 10th pair, said this clog “makes it difficult to wear other shoes because these are so comfortable.”

Restaurant workers, nurses, retail employees and others who stand on their feet for long periods also swear by these clogs for keeping their feet from hurting too much.
