Today we're headed to Dublin Road, which is within easy walking distance of Somerset MRT station, 313@Somerset, Centrepoint and more.  There you'll find modern terrace houses next to residential shophouses, hotels, and apartments. Let's head over so you can take a look for yourself!

Before we start the walkabout, here's a map and Masterplan of the area. We've previously toured a few landed estates near by such as Kimsia Park, the area behind Lucky Plaza.

At the time of writing, there was a Dublin Road property for sale for a cool $14 million - according to the property ad, the property is built in the Second Transitional Style architecture and can be used as both a residential property or office.

One unique feature is that the houses have a car porch at the front of the property, which is large enough to park two cars. Many shophouses have no parking spaces at all, something a friend who lives in conservation shophouses once warned me about.

Alas, no, it's a path that leads nowhere.

The lack of parking is why I hardly ever come to this area. When I did my research before the tour, I realised there's actually a basement carpark in the estate. It belongs to a service apartment block and isn't the largest space but it should suffice for your visitors. You'll also find amenities such as your local NTUC in the service apartment block- I'll show you in a bit. Let's finish viewing the residential properties here first.

If you turn left after exiting Dublin Road, you'll reach Lloyd road.

Now let's head back to Killiney Road, as that's where the majority of the amenities are located.

I'm not sure I would want to live on Orchard Road even if I could afford it, as the area is quite busy.

Looking around the traffic junction. Not too jammed today but I once made the mistake of driving to my friend's place near Oxley on a Friday night, and it took me almost two hours just coming down from Newton! So be warned!

Orchard Road is pretty well-known to Singaporeans so I don't think you guys will need a tour of the shops! Let's head back to Dublin Road.

Before we end today's tour you may be wondering about the sales history.

The last "true" landed sale (i.e. non-stata) was back in 2021 for slightly over $5 million. This brings us to the end of today's walkabout.  How did you find the area? If you like living in shophouses and being in the middle of town, you may also be interested in the Cairnhill landed enclave, which we visited some time back in April.
