PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles pair Man Wei Chong-Soh Wooi Yik got their China Open campaign off to a winning start after advancing to the second round on Tuesday (July 21).

Playing at the Changzhou Olympic Sports Centre, Wei Chong-Wooi Yik needed just 35 minutes to beat fellow Malaysians Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Kang Khai Xing 21-12, 21-15.

The victory was a timely boost after the pair suffered a first-round exit at last week's Japan Open.

Wei Chong-Wooi Yik will next face either Taiwan's Chiu Hsiang-chieh-Wang Chi-lin or Japan's Kakeru Kumagai-Hiroki Nishi for a place in the quarter-finals on Wednesday (July 22).
