Walking with Dinosaurs (BBC Player, May 26)

Before Jurassic World Rebirth arrives in cinemas (July 3), whet your appetite with the reboot of the landmark 1999 docu-series. Drawing from new dig findings, palaeontologists (with a little help from VFX wizards) reimagine what life is like for the dinosaurs 66 million years ago. First ep centres on an orphan baby triceratops trying to outrun a T-Rex. Good luck, kiddo. The six-part series will also drop on BBC Earth (StarHub Ch 407, Singtel Ch 503) from June 1.

Captain America: Brave New World (Disney+, May 28)

One of the rare MCU efforts that’s more of a filler than thriller, Brave New World is one-third Captain America sequel, and two-third follow-up to The Incredible Hulk (the one with Edward Norton). Sam Wilson aka The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) picks up el capitan’s mantle, and stumbles upon a conspiracy involving The President of the United States (Harrison Ford).

The latest limited series from The Queen’s Gambit creator Scott Frank. Matthew Goode stars as DCI Carl Morck, a brilliant but disgraced cop assigned to run the titular unit, which handles Edinburgh’s cold cases. His superiors don’t expect him to last long on the job, but Morck and his team of misfits prove them wrong.

Hacks, Season 4  (Max, May 30)

Season finale! Instead of firing Ava (Hannah Einbinder) over a controversial joke, Deborah (Jean Smart) chooses integrity over self-preservation and quits her own late-night talk show. Problem is, Deborah is still contractually bound to the studio: if she doesn’t return to do the show, she gets sued six ways to Sunday. How is Deborah going to navigate this legal mess? Be prepared for a little surprise.

And Just Like That…, Season 3, (Max, May 30)

Remember that five-year break Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett) took in the Season 2 finale? Guess what? Aidan’s back sooner than expected — just in time to help Carrie move into her new apartment. Elsewhere, with Che (Sara Ramirez) is out of the picture, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is back in the dating pool; and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) runs into more parenting dilemmas. Sorry, no sign of Samantha (Kim Cattrall).
