When oil prices fall, consumers expect petrol prices to go down... BUT why is it going up?!

Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) president Melvin Yong said petrol companies in Singapore should be fair and follow the fall in global oil prices by lowering petrol prices at the pump in tandem.
He made his comments at the association’s 55th anniversary dinner at Amara Sanctuary Sentosa on Mar. 15, The Straits Times reported.
Yong noted that pump prices were raised a number of times over a few days, but it did not go down.

Government should help to stabilise the increase by making the oil price tax variable, example prices increase tax come down so that the impact on the people lives is less affected. This is the real test for the government that they care for the citizens and maintain the cost of living during crisis. This crisis is considered as ‘raining days’ by reducing the petrol taxes.
