Bill Belichick might be one of the NFL‘s most successful football coaches, but it’s his girlfriend, Jordan Hudson, who is making waves.

Sports fans are fascinated by their 48-year age gap — she’s 24 and he’s 73 — and the duo can’t seem to stay out of the headlines. Belichick will be coaching the University of North Carolina football team in the fall, but at least one Tar Heels Instagram account has anointed Hudson as the “real star moving to Chapel Hill.” The Hellyeah UNC account described her as the “new IT girl on campus” and a “baddie” after the news was announced in December 2024.

Still, not everyone is rolling out the welcome mat for Hudson, who has been called out by people in the NFL. Former NFL player Channing Crowder talked about his May 16 interview with Belichick for The Pivot.

“He’s all in if you talk football, but if you start talking personal stuff he starts doing the mumble and the one-word answers and his old lady is different,” Crowder said on the Hochman and Crowder podcast, via the New York Post. “She lurks. It’s weird to know him as Coach Belichick running the entire organization as GM, head coach, talent coordinator, all that stuff, and then to see this tiny little 95-pound girl pretty much telling him what to do.”

How did Jordon Hudson and Bill Belichick meet?

Hudson and Belichick’s meet-cute moment happened on a Jet Blue flight from Boston to Florida in February 2021, according to TMZ. The NFL coach signed her Deductive Logic textbook because she was still a college student at Bridgewater State University at the time. They reportedly exchanged information, but it wasn’t until Belichick’s 16-year relationship with Linda Holliday was over that the current duo began to date.

That plane ride became a hot talking point in April when Hudson interrupted a CBS Sunday Morninginterview with Tony Dokoupil.

“We’re not talking about this,” she said from the sidelines of the set when the reporter asked Belichick about their romantic origin story. That moment was included in the interview and had many fans scratching their heads about the level of control Hudson has behind the scenes.

“I think it’s ironic that a man who really controlled everything — and I mean everything — now is being controlled by some other person,” said Upton Bell, a former general manager of the Patriots told The New York Times on May 20. “You can’t just point at the woman here and say, ‘She is being controlling. That only happens if you let yourself be controlled.”

Hudson is listed as the Chief Operating Officer of Belichick Productions and CEO & Founder of Trouble Cub Enterprises, per LinkedIn. So, their ties are both personal and professional at this point, and while not everyone likes it, Hudson is a force to be reckoned with.
