Why Kristin Juszczyk Is Defending the Term WAG
Kristin Juszczyk thinks being a WAG is a major win.
The fashion designer, who is married to San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, has fully embraced the “sisterhood” of fellow sports wives and girlfriends.
"I’ve met the most incredible women in the NFL," she exclusively told E! News at Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club at Fanatics Fest NYC on June 22. "Once you’re in it, you realize that it’s one of the best titles ever."
In fact, the 31-year-old doesn't mind being referred to as a WAG, despite admitting there "used to be a little bit of a negative connotation to it."
"I feel so proud to be even adjacent to the sports world and my husband playing," she emphasized. "I love athletics so much, so to me, it’s not a knock."
Ultimately, if it means supporting her husband, she's proud to be a WAG.
"I’m proud of my husband and everything that he’s done," Kristin added. "I think any spouse really feels that way."
And being a WAG opened up a major door for Kristin, who rose to fame in her own right designing custom game-day outfits, including the Chiefs jacket Taylor Swift wore while supporting boyfriend Travis Kelce. In fact, she recently launched OFF SEASON, her new brand in partnership with the NFL, Fanatics and Emma Grede.
As for how the inspiration behind the designs that quickly took over the internet? After spending game after game in the stands and deciding it was time to sport her team spirit in a new way, she got to work on her sewing machine and quickly realized that others might love her work, too.
"My husband has been playing in the NFL for ten years," she told E! in 2023. "After about year six, I started getting bored of wearing the same three t-shirts on rotation. I remembered that I had my sewing machine in the garage that would only get used when Halloween rolled around."
As she put it, "I started playing around with a few ideas that I had and quickly realized that I had a knack for it."
Now, WAGs and athletes alike have sported her custom pieces including Brittany Mahomes and Caitlin Clark. However, her real passion is in bringing her styles to the fans, which she's been able to do since the launch of her brand in January 2025.
"Dressing all these incredible people is such an honor and I love it," she told E! in March 2024. "I love it more than anything and I hope to continue to be able to do it, but the fans are top priority."
