Why Machine Gun Kelly Missed American Music Awards 2025 After Walking Red Carpet
Machine Gun Kelly is prioritizing his family.
The "Cliché" singer shared that he would be leaving the 2025 American Music Awards early in order to take care of his and Megan Fox's 2-month-old baby girl.
"She has a little bit of a fever," he exclusively told E! News on the red carpet. "So I'm gonna just walk the carpet and go back, you know what I mean, and handle my business. Give her my pheromones, and let her heal up."
Noting their daughter is "great" otherwise, he shared, "I was born to be a dad. Yeah, it's my purpose." (See more stars on the red carpet here.)
MGK (real name Colson Baker) was expected to present at the ceremony, walking the red carpet in black trousers and a vest worn over a white button-down, accessorized with Converse shoes and a pearl necklace.
In addition to reaching a new milestone in his personal life with the arrival of his and Megan's daughter in March, MGK has been busy working on his next album, dropping his latest single "Cliché" on May 23.
"It's a bop, dude," he told E!. "I'm overwhelmed with the acceptance that people have for my art that I always seem to just confuse people with at first, and then in the big picture, they end up understanding."
That's one reason the 35-year-old—who also shares daughter Casie, 15, with ex Emma Cannon—has compared being a musical artist to being a visual artist.
"So my gallery that I keep, I don't want the same pictures to be in there over and over again," he explained. "So I want to curate something that's like an experience where people want to keep coming to the museum and seeing what I got on display."
And this time, that also means busting out his boyband-style dance moves.
"I got a little sometin', like a little John Travolta in me," he quipped. "I gotta graduate to like Michael Jackson at some point, but we'll see."
